PEABODY — The weather was the real showstopper at Peabody’s Centennial Concert and Fireworks Spectacular, causing postponement partway through the event on Saturday. The light show spectacular, the first in nearly two decades, resumed Sunday night. Despite the 24-hour delay, the display went off without a hitch as the second in a series of five events to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the city of Peabody. Three more centennial events are still planned by the city, including a parade on Oct. 2, a 100th birthday party in January and a formal grand ball to be held next May at the Northshore Mall.
