PEABODY — Police are searching for three men who invaded a home on Wednesday morning.
Shortly after 8 a.m., the trio broke into an apartment at 21 Buxton St. and forced one man to the floor, according to Peabody Police Captain Dennis Bonauito.
At least one, and possibly two of the men flashed showed guns, police said. Shortly after the break-in, the three suspects fled.
During the incident, the men covered their faces, two with knit caps and one with a shirt, according to police.
“We have vague descriptions of the three suspects,” said Bonauito. “Two have larger builds and one had a medium build.”
Police said they fled the area in a small black SUV.
Three people were in the apartment at the time of the home and none were injured.
Bonauito said there were some rumors that there was an attempted child abduction as part of the home invasion, but that those rumors proved to be untrue.
Officers and detectives, with assistance from a State Police canine unit, were searching for the suspects as of 11 a.m, according to Bonauito.
