LYNN — An Essex Superior Court jury found a Lynn woman guilty of arson Monday for a house fire last year that temporarily displaced two families and destroyed nearly everything they owned.
Susan Brown, 52, was also convicted of causing injury to a firefighter. She is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
Essex Assistant District Attorney Christina Ronan presented evidence that Brown set fire to a couch in the living room of a first floor apartment at 25 Huss Court in Lynn last year. A Lynn firefighter was injured while putting out the fire and was treated at a hospital, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.
Brown was staying with her family, the occupants of the apartment at the time, and reported the fire, the DA said.
