LYNN — Jaquan Shepard was arrested Tuesday for his alleged involvement in an armed, masked robbery last week.
The victim, a 19-year-old Revere man, had made arrangements to sell marijuana to Shepard. When Shepard, 18, showed up to 80 Sagamore St., the victim was a passenger in a car. Shepard arrived with another person and both were wearing hoods and motorcycle helmets, Lynn Police Lt. Rick Donnelly said.
Shepard and the other suspect, an unidentified man in his late teens, got in the car.
“Jaquan grabbed him by the throat while the other person started slashing him with a knife,” Donnelly said.
The victim told officers that Shepard took his backpack, thinking that it contained 20 grams of marijuana, but it actually only contained a small amount. Police confiscated the weed in the car, and the victim will be issued a summons for marijuana distribution, Donnelly said.
