LYNN — A Lynn man was arrested on multiple firearm and drug charges after officers observed a firearm during a motor vehicle stop, Lynn Police Lt. Rick Donnelly said.
Gary Rosario, 24, of 465 Essex St., was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a firearm identification card, possession to distribute a Class B drug, speeding, unlawful ammo possession without a firearm identification card, carrying a loaded firearm weapon and defacing a firearm serial number at 11:59 a.m. Monday.
A Lynn Police detective observed a car driving suspiciously and decided to follow the vehicle. The detective pulled the car over at Blossom and Neptune streets for speeding. The driver was asked to step out of his vehicle because of his behavior, Donnelly said.
Patrolmen arrived on the scene to assist and observed a gun under the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Rosario did not have a license to carry the gun, which was loaded, and was placed under arrest, Donnelly said.
Rosario had also defaced the firearm serial number, which is a felony. He was subsequently charged with possession to distribute a Class B drug when Percocet pills were found on his person at his booking, according to Donnelly.
