Sandy Tennant from Day 3 of the 2016 Republican National Convention.

CLEVELAND — Had a great day today. Up early to join the New York delegation and hear Michael Faulkner, running for mayor of New York City, give a great speech. We met in the afternoon with Newt Gingrich, and we saw Paul Manafort. I met with several other people who are really, really happy with the way the convention’s going. Met a lot of wonderful people, and they were all committed to getting behind Ted Cruz.
We then went to the Latino luncheon, where Chris Christie gave a great, overwhelming speech before 250 people. Wednesday night was filled with great speeches. Everybody did a good job. I would say Ted Cruz gave the best speech I’ve ever heard him give. But I think we probably saw why Ted is sometimes his own worst enemy. The crowd ended up booing him because he did not make an endorsement.
I guess it’s Ted’s way or the highway, and people here clearly didn’t like that. I feel bad because Ted Cruz gave a great speech, but obviously he is not used to playing on a team.
