LYNN — Organizers of the last two mayoral debates scheduled prior to the Nov. 5 final election said they are breaking ground when it comes to attracting voters to this year’s municipal races and candidates.

Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy and City Council President Timothy Phelan face off at 8 p.m. tonight at the Community Brotherhood Club of Lynn Inc., 15 Coburn St., following an hour-long “candidates appeal” hour hosted by the newly formed African American Leadership Council.
