Gloucester Stage fundraiser
A one-night only benefit performance of Dylan Thomas’ “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” directed by Bob Walsh starring Lindsay Crouse and Christopher Lydon is Friday, Dec. 16, 7:30 p.m. at Gloucester Stage, 267 East Main St., Gloucester. All proceeds benefit Gloucester Stage.
A long-time veteran of the New York stage, Crouse has performed off and on Broadway, and has won the Obie and Theater World awards. On television, Crouse has guest-starred on “C.S.I.”, “Criminal Minds,” “Law and Order,” “Colombo” and spent a season as Professor Maggie Walsh on “Buffy The Vampire Slayer.”
Lydon, multi-media journalist, is the host of WBUR’s “Open Source,” a weekly conversation about arts, ideas and politics. He was the original host of “The Connection” on NPR, widely syndicated in the 1990s.

Gretchen Peters at me&thee
MARBLEHEAD — Gretchen Peters, one of Nashville’s most respected artists, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the me&thee coffeehouse, 28 Mugford St. She will be accompanied by her husband/co-producer and pianist Barry Walsh.
Peters was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in October 2014 by singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell and has accumulated accolades as a songwriter for artists as diverse as Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, the Neville Brothers, Patty Loveless, and George Strait.
Her 2015 album, “Blackbirds,” debuted at No. 1 on the UK Country chart and in the top 40 UK pop chart, and was awarded International Album of the Year and Song of the Year (for “Blackbirds”, which Rolling Stone called “one of the most affecting murder ballads since Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Nebraska’ left a trail of corpses strewn across the American landscape”) at the UK Americana awards.

Christmas brunch show
Gary Leavitt Entertainment will appear at BreakAway, Route 1 North, Danvers, on Sunday, Dec. 11, for a Christmas brunch show. Featured will be Gary’s Christmas Angel Singers, which includes North Shore residents Paula Thibault, Kayli Kotchian, Brittany Jones and Amy Moquin, all of Peabody, plus country singer-songwriter Renee Leavitt.
Gary Leavitt, a celebrity impressionist and Impersonator, will perform two songs; one as John Lennon singing “Happy Christmas (The War is Over)” and as Bruce Springsteen singing “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” Santa will be on hand to accept children’s Christmas lists.

Manchester Singers holiday show
