DANVERS — The Brian Maes Band is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its “13” CD with a special musical party Nov. 25, Black Friday, at Breakaway in Danvers. Three CDs will be released that night. The Brian Maes Band will release a new song, “Inside,” with two previously released bonus cuts. The MaryBeth Maes Band will release a new song, “The Extra Mile,” with two previously released bonus cuts. The band 43 Church Street will release three new songs. Montserrat art sale
BEVERLY — Montserrat College of Art is hosting its newest community-building, fundraising event, the Montserrat ART Sale, Friday through Sunday in Montserrat’s Hardie Building, 23 Essex St. The three-day sale will begin with a ticketed Preview Party on Nov. 18, 6-9 p.m., and will be free and open to the public on Nov. 19, 1 -7 p.m. and Nov. 20, 1-5 p.m.
This event is a chance for participants to buy original art created by students, alumni and established artists while also helping support the next generation of Montserrat artists. The Friday night preview party event allows participants to access the art for sale before it’s available to the public. Half of the sale proceeds go directly to participating artists; the other 50 percent will fund student scholarships, programs, exhibitions and other creative initiatives. Participating artists include Michael Aghahowa and Isaac Subillaga of Lynn; Judith Schmid of Marblehead; Roisin Gilligan of Peabody and David LaChapelle of Revere.
