Homebuying fair at Lynn Museum Saturday

LYNN - Prospective homebuyers can review real estate listings in their price range and mortgage information at Mass Housing Finance Agency's "Opportunity Knocks" fair Saturday at The Lynn Museum, 590 Washington St.

The free seminar includes information on the home buying process, MassHousing-approved lenders, realtors and homebuyer counseling agencies.

"Lost amid the bad news regarding the housing and credit markets is the fact that it still remains a great time to buy a home in Massachusetts with low interest rates and home prices,"' said Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray, adding, "MassHousing and the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS have joined together once again to provide prospective homebuyers with the information they need to make educated and safe decisions so they can purchase a home with the peace of mind that they will be able to live there comfortably and affordably with their families."

Home fair attendees will have the chance to review lists of homes with prices matching low and moderate-income price ranges set by MassHousing. Realtors will host tours of the homes on Oct. 25 and 26.

These special listings are also available at www.masshomefair.com.

Prospective buyers will also receive information on how to apply for an affordable, safe, fixed-rate 30-year mortgage from MassHousing, which includes mortgage insurance to help pay the borrower's mortgage for up to six months in the event of a job loss.
"It is important for prospective homebuyers to know that MassHousing has money to lend to qualified borrowers and MassHousing is one of the few - and perhaps the only lender in Massachusetts - offering 100 percent financing with no money down,'" said MassHousing Executive Director Thomas R. Gleason.

The Opportunity Knocks home buying fair will also feature discount coupons for closing costs.

"While owning a home is a great way to build wealth over the long-term, it is also about shelter, security and establishing roots in the community," said Massachusetts Association of REALTORS President Susan M. Renfrew.

" Will Chipper be there? He got a nice home buyers deal when he purchased a lot for a cheap price. Check Essex County Deeds and see the bargain! Hopefully the people will be politically connected or a dirty deal will come their way!

Snicker "
