LYNN – A trip to the dentist isn?t on most people?s list of favorite things to do, but Perfect Dental, which is opening in Lynn this month, is looking to make it a little more enjoyable. For the past 2? months, Perfect Dental has been renovating 2,500 square feet of space at 48 Market St., which is across the street from Brother?s Deli and next door to Dunkin? Donuts. A Halloween/Grand Opening was held over the weekend for the public and on Tuesday, the mayor and the Greater Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for the official ribbon cutting at 4 p.m..Dymetri Linkov and Dmitry Burshteyn are two members of Perfect Dental?s three-person management team that also includes Dr. Arvinder Sawhney. Linkov and Burshteyn focus on the business management side and Sawhney on the clinical side.Linkov said Perfect Dental goes into communities that are underserved. They accept Mass Health, along with most other major insurances. Burshteyn said also work with those who have no insurance, which might involve zero interest payment plans. The office includes a spacious waiting room, which will include separate areas for children and adults. The children?s area will feature kid-sided recliner chairs with a flat-screen TV and an XBox. The adult area will also have a TV.?We go into communities that are possibly underserved, or underprivileged,” Linkov said.Linkov said Perfect Dental?s goal is to eliminate some of the stress people experience when it comes to going to the dentist.?A lot of people are afraid of the dentist,” he said. “Our goal is to change people?s perception. We want to create a stress-free environment.”Linkov said the office will feature a bilingual staff and will have patient education videos in English, Spanish and French. Both he and Burshteyn stressed that they all plan to do a lot of community outreach with educational programs on the importance of dental health. Mascot Timmy the Tooth will also be involved in these programs.Although a big effort is being made to make visits enjoyable for children, Burshteyn said adults and seniors are also very important. Burshteyn said senior citizens often have specific needs when it comes to addressing their dental issues and Perfect Dental recognizes this.Burshteyn said Perfect Dental tries to make it convenient for patients by offering extended hours during the week (they?ll e open until about 7 p.m.) and offer Saturday hours. They?ll start off with one dentist, Dr. Shashi Barnia, with the hope of eventually having two on staff.Perfect Dental also has offices in Attleboro, Taunton, Roslindale and Fitchburg.Joyce Erekson can be reached at [email protected].
